Parking and Uploading: When you arrive you can drive directly to our group campsites to unload. When you enter Camp Snyder proceed past the large parking lot on your left, go straight then veer right and follow signs to the group campsites, driving behind the large dining hall. This is a one way loop that will bring you back out to the large dining hall and back to the camp entrance and parking lot. There is limited parking at the group campsite along the road - and sometimes they can be sticklers. If there are no spots please unload and park back at the lot. It may be a little bit of a hike....FYI.
To Tent, or Not to Tent: We have plenty of space and love seeing all those tents around the site.
In Cub Scouts, we have Family Campouts, which means families tent together.
It also means the entire family is welcome and encouraged to attend and participate (parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles...)!
For those that are unable to stay overnight or think sleeping on the ground a mere 30 minutes away from your warm, cozy bed is insane - that's ok (and probably more normal!). Come when you can. Stay as long as you can.
Packing List: I have linked a suggested packing list. This is a generic list, adjust the list to your particular needs. Saturday night WILL BE CHILLY. Even though we will have a roaring fire, be sure to dress warmly. One of the best ways to stay warm is with a warm hat and warm socks. For those only joining Saturday you will still want warm clothes, a chair, and water bottle...maybe a blanket.
Site Map: Here is a map of Camp Snyder - we will share our group campsite number when we receive it (1-14 TBD).
Medical Forms: Anyone staying overnight needs to have a completed Medical Form - sections A & B.
These do not need a doctor's signature (That is only for Form C if you overnight for 3+ nights).
We do need paper copies of the form, which we collect when you arrive. Forms are good for one year - we can keep them secured in our Medical Form Binders for the year or return them to you when you leave camp. If you don't have access to a printer you can email Geoff your forms he will print and bring it (gdelizzio@gmail.com). We will also have blank copies onsite.
We don't review forms unless there is a medical issue - fill out as best as you can.
Copy of Insurance Cards are helpful but not required for short term events like a one-night campout. (Summer camps do require them)
For short term events like our campouts - you do not need to include height and weight! (Yeah!!)
If you are staying for the day on Saturday and not sleeping over you are not required to have a form.
Note Repeated: These forms are good for one year from the signature date so we recommend each family fill out the forms once per year and either turn them in for the year or bring them to each campout.
